Most cemeteries have regulations that govern what is allowed to be placed on a lot or space. Before purchasing a lot it is beneficial to ask questions regarding this. We keep information on almost all of the cemeteries in our area so asking us is always a great starting point. There are many cemeteries or sections of cemeteries that only allow flat or flush to the ground markers. This is just one example of why it is important to have knowledge before moving forward so that your families wish can be obtained.
There are many cemeteries that charge fees for placing a memorial.  Usually those fees are associated with maintenance or other add on surfaces.  There are cemeteries that will tell you that they are the only ones allowed to set a monument or sell someone a monument, this is illegal, you have the right to order from any monument company and that company can place the memorial.
